Gooood Morning and Happy Easter!
Before I head out to my parent’s place in Portage for a “10%” weekend of cabbage rolls, perogies and other delicious Ukrainian food for Easter weekend I wanted to make sure you were taken care of
This Friday I want to do something a little different for you. We still have a Q&A question at the end but I want to give you a “Weekly Wrap Up” of the articles I’ve written this week in case you missed any, as well as a couple good articles on other “BOOM APPROVED” websites I’ve come across this week.
YOUR 5 BIGGEST INFLUENCES IN YOUR LIFE
This article turned out to be a little controversial with more than a couple people saying it was harsh or cold. This really wasn’t my intention, but I stand by the point I was trying to make: “The people you surround yourself with WILL influence your body and life.” Harsh or not, that’s the politically incorrect truth.
HOW I SAVED THE ECONOMY $500 MILLION
In this article I talk about Canadian health care costs, how to reduce migraines without medication and why more companies need to start getting on board with some version of a corporate wellness program, large or small. Saving Canada $500 million; just another day at the office
WOMEN’S ISSUES THAT MAKE GUYS UNCOMFORTABLE
Who knows more about PMS and menopause than a 27 year old male fitness professional?? In this article I talk about some women’s issues, and attempt a segway from a transformation challenge to PMS to menopause and finally to postmenopausal osteoporosis. It’s a good finish if you can stick with me through the transitions
RED MEAT: IS IT BAD FOR YOU? – Precision Nutrition Blog
This is a must read article. I posted something a while back about a study that showed red meat is bad for your health. This study (as well as most nutrition studies) is terribly flawed and isn’t worth lining a bird cage with, let alone basing your health on. This article from the guys at PN is a must read because it talks about why the study is flawed and how people can learn to spot these ridiculous studies before being tricked and confused even more.
Alright, let’s get into today’s Q&A question from Liliana:
QUESTION: “Hello, sorry to bother you again…Question: what is the best exercise for the inner thighs?”
ANSWER: Thanks for the question Liliana, no bother at all
Unfortunately you’re not going to like my answer….
There really isn’t a “best exercise” for inner thighs.
The best thing to do to “tighten” and “tone” that area is to first dial in your nutrition, based on the Bodyshaping Nutrition guidelines I lay out in these articles.
Next you want to base your strength training program on total body metabolic resistance training workouts like the ones we have our clients do at BOOM BodyShaping Studio.
Forget about the isolation exercises like leg extensions or the thigh master. That’s not doing a whole lot for you unfortunately. Base your training program on complex and explosive exercises like squats, burpees, lunges, split jumps, lateral lunges, step ups, squat jumps, straight leg deadlifts. And don’t forget about your upper body too. Incorporate exercises like pushups, dumbbell rows, pull downs, etc.
And don’t be afraid to use some heavy weight. Keep the reps low (5-12) and lift some weight!
That’s probably not the answer you wanted to hear, but it’s the one that will get you the best results
Alright, that’s it for today. Have a great weekend and I’ll talk to you on Monday!
Dedicated to your success,
