In less than 24 hours I will be in the air on my way to sunny Miami for a week of fun in the sun. Although, if the weather stays as nice as it was here on the weekend, there’s almost no need to go to Miami…. Almost.
And on that note, let’s talk about setting some goals!
When was the last time you took a real long, hard look at your goals?
Or even sat down and wrote them out?
Goal setting is one of the things that separates the successful people from the non successful people.
How can you expect to get somewhere if you don’t know where you’re going? If you were driving somewhere and had never been there before, would you just get in your car and start driving, or would you get directions and make a plan of how you’re going to get there? You’d probably even ask someone who knows how to get there the quickest way, saving you lots of time and stress.
It’s the same thing with your fat loss goals. You need to think about where you’re going and make a plan to get there. There are no right or wrong goals, it just depends what is important to you and what will make you happy.
After you have your goals written down, and a plan in place for how you’re going to get there, take 5 minutes EVERY DAY and visualize yourself already achieving those goals. Most people will disregard this, but I PROMISE you it makes a difference, and all it takes is 5 minutes each day.
We did this exercise with our Rock Your Jeans Challenge a few months ago and I still recommend to our clients at BOOM BodyShaping to do this daily. Do it right now at your desk…..
Close Your Eyes
Think About Your Goal
What Day Is It?
What’s The Weather Like?
What Does The Air Smell Like?
Visualize Yourself Looking In The Mirror At Your New Body.
Get a VERY clear image in your head of what that day will be like, and imagine that day is TODAY. Imagine yourself in the present having already achieved that goal.
Keep your goals in the front of your mind always and you’ll have an easier time making the hard decisions you need to make in order to transform your body and your lifestyle.
If you need help setting goals and you have an Amazon Kindle, I have a great resource for you and it’s only 99 cents!
My colleague Craig Ballantyne (the person I got the “Life Rules” article idea from a while back), wrote a great book on goal setting, but it’s only available for Kindle right now.
Alright, I’ve gotta go… two clients are waiting to get their workouts on!
Have a great day and stay active!
