Good Morning!
Typically when people travel they just completely write off their nutrition and workouts,
stating that its a lost cause trying to eat healthy and get their workouts in with their busy
schedule while on the road (unless you’re talking to a BOOM Client… they never make
these excuses because they’re awesome
)
So here’s a few ways you can keep up with your workouts, continue to lose belly fat and
keep your body running at 110% while on the road:
1. Get Rolling On The Road
I’ve talked about foam rolling before and how important it is for a healthy, injury free
body, but what about when your traveling? Well you can pick up a travel size roller that
can fit in your suitcase. They only about a foot and a half long, and if you get the one
that we use at BOOM BodyShaping, it’s hollow on the inside so you can stuff it full of
clothing if you need to.. That way your not using up as much space in your suitcase.
The ones we use are also very light so it shouldnt be too much of an issue. At the very
least, you could take two tennis balls duct tape them together and use that as your
roller. Works in much the same way but is very small and light.
2. Get Up Early
During the day your probably pretty doing whatever it is you went traveling to do, so get
your butt out of bed and get your workout in before heading out. It doesnt have to be
a marathon training session, but at least do a quick workout either in a gym or in your
room.
I’ve put together some quick, 15 minute, travel friendly workout videos for you here.
3. Relax Before Bed
Before going to bed for the night, either do some more foam rolling, or get relaxed by
doing some light stretching for some major muscle groups. Again, this doesnt have to
be long, even just 5-10min before bed can make a big difference in how your feel the
next day and also in how you sleep. Hold each stretch for a good 30 seconds the slowly
move into the next stretch. Just relax and take it slow and smooth, dont try to race
through it or you’re defeating the purpose. If you have a little more time (and are an over
achiever type person
) you could do some light yoga.
Whether you’re using this advice or doing something else, the main thing is to keep as
much on your training routine as possible while traveling, as hard as it can be at times.
Its hard, not impossible. But looking and performing your best is worth it right? That’s
what I thought.
